“Back to the Future” fans around the world are celebrating Oct. 21, 2015, the day Marty McFly and Doc Brown time-traveled to in their DeLorean in the classic 1985 film.
Among them: Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, who released a slick Web ad on Wednesday using the movie’s premise to promote his Republican candidacy — and mock Democratic frontrunner Hillary Clinton and Vice President Joe Biden’s potential bid as a return to the past.
“In 1989 we went back to the future. Now that we’re here, it’s more like a blast from the past,” text at the beginning of the ad reads before a video clip from last week’s Democratic debate rolls.
