Can we trade Jim Webb for John McCain?

Anderson Cooper’s question for Jim Webb during Tuesday’s Democratic primary debate — “Would encouraging people to be armed be part of your response to a mass shooting?” — wasn’t exactly worded to allow much of a pro-gun answer.
But the former U.S. senator from Virginia — a proponent of the Second Amendment — didn’t back away.
After insisting that guns should be kept out of the hands of those with mental illness, Webb said American citizens have a right to protect themselves — and then took aim at U.S. officials protected with armed security details.
