Do actual adults run this school?
Via Mediaite:
An Oregon middle schooler was suspended recently for wearing a shirt to school supporting American troops because the shirt had a picture of a rifle on it.
Alan Holmes‘ shirt read ‘Standing for those who stood for us,’ and featured an image of a “battlefield cross,” an arrangement of a troop’s boots, helmet, and gun that commonly serves as a memorial for fallen comrades. But Dexter McCarty Middle School’s vice principal and principal asked Holmes to change.
The eighth-grader — whose brother served in the Marines — refused to change into a school shirt. “They won’t let us support the people who keep us free, I’m not going to support them,” he told a local Fox affiliate.
When his father learned the reason his son was suspended, he defended Alan and went to the press. “I would have done the same thing,” he said.
