Started many hearings, finished none. How is that holding anyone accountable? Used to have great hope for Issa, now not so much…

Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA) is considering a bid for Speaker of the House of Representatives, IJ.com has learned.

Issa was a vocal member of the House upon news that current-Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) had withdrawn his candidacy for the Speakership on Thursday. In a statement, Issa expressed frustrations with Speaker Boehner’s leadership over the past several years:

“The frustration Americans have expressed – including with John Boehner – was due to the fact that they felt as if the Republicans in charge in Congress were not willing to stand up to the Obama Administration.”
The statement continued:

“Americans want someone with a proven track record of holding this Administration accountable.”
