Rep. Jason Chaffetz, R-Utah, chair of the powerful House Oversight Committee, has thrown his hat into the Speaker’s race to replace the retiring John Boehner.

‘Today, here. I am announcing my intention to run for Speaker of the House of Representatives,’ Chaffetz announced on Fox News Sunday.

Boehner’s No. 2, House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy, was at one point considered a shoe-in for the post. But comments suggesting the Republicans’ Benghazi committee was politically going after Hillary Clinton got McCarthy in trouble. Now, according to Chaffetz, the math doesn’t look so good.
