Trust CNN to try to use even the killer’s father to push their anti-gun agenda. Rather than blame his son, the father, Ian Mercer, says, “That’s what guns are. The killers. It’s as simple as that. It’s black and white.”

Here’s a problem with the father’s story, he says he never knew the son had guns and that he communicated with his son regularly. But the shooter, Chris Harper-Mercer, and his mother, Laurel, went shooting regularly, according to neighbors. She also had multiple guns, according to posts she made on social media.

So how can the father honestly assert he had no knowledge of that now? He did not live with the son, so perhaps they never told him, but given it was a regular practice, it would seem it’s more dad’s effort to disavow all knowledge and blame the guns, not his son.
