The CNN host couldn’t control the narrative.

Paula Johnson, co-chairwoman of New Hampshire-based Women for Trump, used her personality and enthusiasm for the candidate to take over a segment of CNN’s “Legal View” on Friday.
At issue was Donald Trump’s town hall meeting Thursday, during which the Republican presidential candidate did not correct a questioner who said President Barack Obama was a non-American Muslim.
“A lot of people ask a lot of questions of Mr. Trump, and since we don’t have censorship there, it is his First Amendment right to ask the question,” Johnson told host Ashleigh Banfield, adding that Trump “gave an answer that we’re going to look into this.”
Later, Banfield asked Johnson whether she wasn’t troubled that Trump didn’t correct the town hall questioner.
“Why don’t we get off of this subject already,” Johnson said. “I don’t care what the president is. I look at people as, are they capable of running my country.”
She then segued into a discussion of her candidate’s qualifications for office.
“So, I feel that Mr. Trump is a very successful businessman,” Johnson said. “I think he has more of the qualifications to run this country.”
When Johnson pointed out that the man at the town hall meeting had every right to ask whatever question he wanted, Banfield replied that Trump should have corrected the record at that point.
“Well, let me ask you a question!” Johnson shot back. “What about when our president is disrespectful to the prime minister of Israel? Is that OK?”
