No description of the ‘persons of interest’.
Via AZ Central:
Arizona state troopers had two people in custody late Friday morning who might be linked to the string of Phoenix-area freeway shootings, according to an Arizona Department of Public Safety spokesman.
Troopers detained two people near 107th Avenue and Interstate 10 after 10:30 a.m. Friday.
“We have two persons of interest in custody only,” said Bart Graves, a DPS spokesman.
DPS has confirmed 11 shootings dating back to Aug. 29. Eight vehicles were struck by bullets and three were struck by unspecified projectiles.
The majority of the shootings happened on a stretch of the I-10 between 83rd Avenue and 32nd Street. One shooting was reported on the I-17 near Dunlap Road and another on State Route 202 between 32nd Street and 24th Street.
