1 stands for an innocent, 200 stand for an accused criminal. Something is wrong in that equation.
FERGUSON, MO (KTVI) – One man is marching after a 9-year-old girl was gunned down in her own bedroom in Ferguson. Jamyla Bolden was fatally shot Tuesday night while doing homework on her mother’s bed. At least one person posted a picture to Facebook of Shawn Williams. The images show him holding a sign that says, “Stand up for Jamyla Bolden.” They say he is a stranger who wants police to find the killer.
The motive for the shooting isn’t clear and so far there have been no arrests. The girl’s 34-year-old mother suffered a gunshot wound to her leg. She was treated at an area hospital.
Over 200 demonstrators took to the streets of north St. Louis on Wednesday. They were marching to protest the death of 18-year-old Mansur Ball-Bey. Police say he pointed a gun at them before they opened fire. Tear gas was used to disperse demonstrators and made nine arrests Wednesday night.
