One very inspiring officer. A little more about him here.
Via NYPD News:
Hero Detective Steven McDonald has been visiting NYPD officers at the start of their work day to talk about the importance of supporting one another. The 31-year veteran of the Department, who was shot in the line of duty in 1986 while questioning a suspect, makes his way to station houses across the city to speak to fellow officers about the stresses of the job.
“I come here because I care about you all,” said Detective McDonald.
Detective McDonald’s conversation with the cops touched on preventing suicide among the ranks of the NYPD and the importance of training and tactics. He also reinforced his motivational message, speaking about how the police are indeed admired and supported by the communities they serve.
