MEMPHIS, Tennessee — A manhunt continues for a suspect who fatally shot a Memphis police officer during a traffic stop on Saturday night, according to officials.
The gunman, 29-Year-Old Tremaine Wilbourn, is considered Armed & Dangerous. A massive manhunt is ongoing.
Earlier, a person of interest turned himself in. Police believe he was at the scene of the shooting but was not the gunman.
Wilburn has a warrant for his arrest for a count of first-degree murder.
City council offering a $10,000 reward for this man and U.S. Marshals are offering $10,000 as well. City officials said other agencies may offer a similar reward.
More: At approximately 9:18 pm Communications was alerted by a citizen through one of our officer’s radios that an officer had been shot in the area of Perkins and Cottonwood. Once officers arrived on the scene they located a MPD Officer who had been shot during what appeared to be a traffic stop.
The officer, 33-year-old Sean Bolton, was transported in critical condition but was later pronounced deceased due to multiple gunshot wounds.
