Talk about sad…
WASHINGTON — President Obama on Monday condemned the latest highly charged rhetoric of GOP presidential candidates as “ridiculous” and “sad” after one said the Iran nuclear deal would lead to another Holocaust.
Speaking at a press conference in Ethiopia, Obama rebuked comments by Mike Huckabee and offered a broader scolding of GOP leaders — including Donald Trump and Sen. Ted Cruz — who have sullied the “decorum and honesty” of American politics.
“The American people deserve better,” said Obama, making some of his most substantive comments on the presidential race during a visit to Ethiopia.“Certainly, presidential debates deserve better. In 18 months, I’m turning over the keys — I want to make sure I’m turning over the keys to somebody who is serious about the serious problems the country faces and the world faces.”
