Does this mean if we wait out ISIS, they’ll all just die of Salmonella or Trichinosis?

A salmonella outbreak prompted the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to issue a warning about backyard poultry.

More than 180 people have fallen ill with salmonella in the U.S. in recent weeks, including one person in Oklahoma. According to the CDC, many of the people who got sick let live poultry into their homes.

“We’ve heard stories of people who have their chickens house-trained and their pot-belly pigs house-trained and I’m sure they can do that, but it is a risk they’re taking,” said Dr. Rod Hall, state veterinarian for the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture.

The CDC also reported several infected people admitted to kissing or cuddling live poultry.
