NOPD Officer Daryle Holloway was shot and killed while transporting a suspect early Saturday morning. ​

​”He was on duty. He was transporting a prisoner who had been arrested on a previous shift,” said Police Chief Michael Harrison.

​”That prisoner was able to get his hands out of the handcuffs and was able to get a firearm and shot officer Holloway while he was driving.”
​
​Holloway crashed the car and died at the hospital.
​
​The subject came from the back seat into the front seat through a hole in the cage and shot officer Holloway.

A manhunt is on for 33-year-old Travis Bois.
