Co-host of ABC’s The View Whoopi Goldberg said Monday morning that if former Spokane NACCP head Rachel Dolezal wanted to identify as a black woman despite being born Caucasian, she had no problem with it.

Co-host Raven-Symone was to first to defend Dolezal, noting that “everybody is from Africa, pretty much…. everybody has some type of African blood inside of them. What makes a black person, just your skin?”

When co-host Nicole Wallace noted the harsh reaction from African-American commentators has been harsh, Goldberg responded that she didn’t feel mad at all. Like countless others, Goldberg made the comparison to transgenderism. “Look, just like people say, ‘I feel like I’m a man,’ ‘I feel like I’m a woman,’ ‘I feel like I’m this,’ she feels like a black woman.”

“She wants to be a black woman? Fine,” she said. “Everything that comes with that, she is prepared for.”
