Matthew McConaughey lived up to his reputation for being a shrewd Hollywood negotiator when he bagged over $140,000 to give the commencement at the University of Houston.

The actor, who is well known for his catchphrase ‘All right, all right, all right,’ took center stage at the UH commencement in Texas where he spoke to 5,000 excited students who graduated Friday.

But he could not escape the controversy over the sum for his appearance which included $135,000 for the speech, $9,500 to fly him in from New Orleans on a private jet and $500 for two nights at a hotel for his coordinator.

However, McConaughey, a Texan, who is estimated to be worth $75 million said he intends to donate the money for his speech to his charity, the Just Keep Livin’ Foundation.

Despite the outcry towards the university over the money it spent to get the former sexiest man alive to give the 45-minute speech, UH said it was worth it to have the spotlight on them.
