Hair extensions

Mothers Day is this weekend…

North Miami Beach Police are searching for four children who were caught on camera stealing thousands of dollars worth of hair extensions from a beauty supply store.

Police said the robbers, three boys and one girl, walked into the beauty supply store, located near Northeast 163rd Street and 16th Avenue, Saturday.

Surveillance video showed the children heading to a back room and stuffing a book bag with $5,000 worth of hair extensions. After store manager Nur Uddin confronted them, one of the young robbers then flashed a gun. Uddin said once he saw the gun, he was not going to put up a fight. “No. I didn’t want to do that. There’s nothing [worth] more than a life,” he said.

The gang of four were able to run off with the bag filled with pricey extensions and Capt. Richard Rand of the North Miami Beach Police Department said there is concern that the suspects will strike again. Police believe one of the children, who slipped into the back room and grabbed extensions, is the youngest and may be as young as 8 years old. “We have very good video. We are asking that the public come forward and help us,” said Rand.
