They have to be able to point to some wrongdoing on the part of the prosecutor that would have made a difference in this case. Not going to happen.
Interestingly, in addition to the typical leftists suspects, such as the National Lawyer’s Guild, the plaintiffs’ team of attorneys includes Jerryl Christmas, the attorney for the protester who shot the two police officers.
CLAYTON • A group of St. Louis activists is asking a judge to appoint a special prosecutor to investigate the grand jury proceedings in the fatal shooting of Michael Brown by a Ferguson police officer.
The first hearing in the suit is scheduled for 9 a.m. Friday in St. Louis County Circuit Court. The St. Louis County counselor’s office has asked that the suit be dismissed.
The activists contend that St. Louis County Prosecutor Robert McCulloch acted in “bad faith” during the grand jury proceedings and “never intended to prosecute Darren Wilson.”
County attorneys say that statutes do not justify an automatic investigation of a public official and also contend that the suit “is based not on a well-reasoned legal claim but instead is another product of the emotional furor that surrounded the Darren Wilson case from its inception.”
