These colleges really should be shamed for being this squishy, and the students should be embarrassed.

Via Fox News Insider:

A college has come under fire for serving Mexican food during a science fiction event after some students claimed it was racist.

Brian Kilmeade reported on “The Kelly File” tonight that Stevenson College has different themed nights each month for students. He explained that officials at the school decided to serve Mexican food during “Intergalactic” night.

Kilmeade said that some students were offended, because they felt the combination of food and the theme was racist. Students cited the association between Mexicans and illegal immigrants.

After receiving a number of complaints and protests on campus, Dr. Carolyn Golz, a college administrative officer, issued an apology letter.

“As a result of this incident, I will require cultural competence training for Programs staff, in addition to implementing mechanisms for future program planning that will ensure college programs are culturally sensitive and inclusive,” Golz wrote in the letter.
