Two House Democrats from Massachusetts have suggested that Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) should step down from her position as House Minority Leader, citing the massive influx of Republican representatives during elections on her watch.
Reps. Stephen Lynch and Michael Capuano appeared on WGBH’s “Greater Boston,” where they blasted the California Democrat’s leadership. Lynch said:
“Nancy Pelosi will not lead us back into the majority.”
Host Jim Braude asked Capuano if Pelosi should step down from the Democratic House leadership, to which he replied:
“That, or she should change, one way or the other.”[…]
Pelosi has served in the House of Representatives for almost three decades. At age 75, she is the oldest member of the Democratic House leadership, followed by Maryland Rep. Steny Hoyer, aged 75, and South Carolina’s James Clyburn, aged 74.
