Wasserman Schultz’ beliefs place her far outside of the political mainstream. According to the most recent Gallup poll, only 28 percent of Americans believe abortion should be “legal under any circumstances.
Under Wasserman Schultz’s direction, the 2012 Democratic National Convention drafted a party platform that supported the right to an abortion without any qualifications, and opposed “any and all efforts to weaken or undermine that right.”
