As President Obama continued his annual tradition of reading a children’s book at the White House Easter Egg roll on Monday, he was briefly interrupted by a few bees that frightened the children.

As Obama read “Where the Wild Things Are” to a group of children, they were briefly interrupted when some of the children spotted some bees.

“Oh no, it’s a bee,” Obama said, trying to sound concerned after hearing some of the children scream.

As the screams continued, Obama tried to reassure the children.

“That’s OK guys, bees are good, they won’t land on you,” he said, chuckling nervously as the children continued to scream.

Finally the president raised his voice.

“Hold on! Hold on! You guys are Wild Things! You’re not supposed to be scared of bees when you are a Wild Thing,” he shouted, before continuing the story.

After the story was over, Obama complemented the children for their participation.

“Well you guys were an excellent audience, excellent Wild Things,” he said, “Although if you’re a Wild Thing, you can’t be scared of bees. Alright?”
