President Obama is an inspiration to so many grassroots organizers across the country.

That’s why I think this is one of the most genuinely awesome things we do — a grassroots contest to meet the President in person at the OFA Organizing Summit next month.

And it’s fitting that it’s all about us as organizers. It bears repeating — this is a movement of millions. But every one of us has a story to tell about how we got inspired to do the work we do. It’s so powerful to hear how we were all moved to be part of it.

Those stories are what drive us — they give us the strength to fight back against the big-money lobbyists and powerful special interests.

That’s what this contest is all about: giving folks the chance to tell their stories.
