New York Mayor De Blasio Delivers State Of The City Address

It’s the City That Hits the Snooze Button, at least when it comes to Mayor de Blasio.

Hizzoner has scheduled press conferences, speeches or public events before 11 a.m. on just 23 of 87 days this year. De Blasio has admitted he’s “not a morning person.”

And while the serial oversleeper has missed the starts of parades, holiday Masses and solemn ceremonies for plane-crash victims, he does carve out plenty of late-morning time to hit the gym in his old Park Slope neighborhood.

Rather than working out at home — former First Lady Donna Hanover outfitted Gracie Mansion’s attic for workouts — or at Asphalt Green, only three blocks away, de Blasio sweats out the stress at the Prospect Park YMCA 10 miles away.

On Wednesday morning, de Blasio arrived with his entourage of three black SUVs and climbed on an exercise bike at 9:50 a.m.
