Rule #1 of professional race baiting according to the Prophet Al Sharpton: We will always be the victims.
Via Raw Story:
Speaking before a packed house in Greensboro, N.C. the mother of slain teen Trayvon Martin spoke of dealing with the death of her son, saying the worst day of her life was not the day she learned he had been killed, but “The day I had to bury my son.”
According to the News-Record, Sybrina Fulton spoke about how she felt after losing her son when he was shot and killed by George Zimmerman in Sanford, Florida in 2012. A jury later found Zimmerman not guilty of second-degree murder. […]
Speaking of Michael Brown, the unarmed teenager shot and killed in Ferguson, Missouri by police officer Darren Wilson, Fulton said, “Black lives do matter. At one point in our history, we were looked at as three-fifths human. So making that point that black lives matter and all lives matter is important.”
A Miami native, Fulton worked for the housing agency there before she was thrust into the national spotlight.
“I had an average job, took my boys on vacation every year to expose them to something different,” she said. “I had mommy duty, rushing home at 5 to try to start a dinner, watch the news.”
Fulton said her faith has helped her deal with her son’s death, explaining that she still has two boys — one on Earth and one in Heaven.
“At the same time, I had just enough faith in God to know that he wouldn’t bring me to this, without bringing me through this,” she said. “I’m still an average mother. If I had to sign up for this, I would not have. … I would much rather have my son here with me, like most of you.”
For a while, though, she said she felt like she “would never be happy again.”
But she said she soon made up her mind that “I have to do more,” and she formed the Trayvon Martin Foundation to provide scholarships and promote violence prevention programs.
