(CNSNews.com) – Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush refuses to sign the Taxpayer Protection Pledge, a promise to oppose any and all new tax increases, according to Americans for Tax Reform (ATR).
Americans for Tax Reform is a non-partisan coalition of taxpayers and taxpayer groups who oppose all tax increases.They created the Taxpayer Protection Pledge so that politicians who claim they don’t want to raise taxes won’t turn their back on the American taxpayer and can put their rhetoric into writing.
According to ATR, “Jeb Bush has enthusiastically endorsed a ‘grand bargain’ tax increase with Democrats, says his father’s 1990 ‘Read My Lips’ tax increase ‘created the spending restraint of the 90’s,’and refuses to sign the Taxpayer Protection Pledge to the American people.”
