U.S. Senator Charles Schumer of New York is calling on the federal government to ban green laser pointers following a number of laser attacks on commercial flights. Schumer, a Democrat, says green lasers are more powerful and more damaging that other colors. In a news conference on Sunday, Schumer said the lasers could be a threat to national security.

Schumer-Lasers could be used by terrorists

Schumer says green lasers are 20 to 30 times stronger than other lasers and can travel faster.
