Hillary Rodham Clinton was secretary of state from January 21, 2009 to February 1, 2013. During her tenure as Secretary Of State she used a Blackberry phone to communicate, organize her e-mail and calendar events and presumably keep in touch with officials via Blackberry Messenger.

The phone was issued to her by U.S. government for use with government systems and interaction with U.S. government employees. The phone is effectively government property.

Yesterday Mrs Clinton stated she could have, but chose not to manage two smartphones while Secretary of State implying (but not directly saying) she chooses not to manage that many devices out of convenience to herself.

Furthermore, Mrs Clinton’s preferred communication device (and President Obama’s) appears to be a “Research In Motion” issued Blackberry (probably a GSM model with camera).

In mid-2013, Mrs Clinton took to Twitter and at present her account has under 500 Tweets and a few interactions with her husband, former President Bill Clinton.

Here’s another thought:

Which sounds more convenient to you?

1. Adding an email on the phone you already had.
2. Or paying for and operating a whole server for multiple people that you have to be responsible for and secure?

But it’s nice to know convenience is more important than the rules and the law for Mrs. Clinton.

Imagine what that would mean if she were President?
