Via Daily Mail:

Hillary Clinton’s brief press conference on Tuesday in which she addressed for the first time the email scandal swirling around her, opened up new lines of attack for partisans bent on destroying her chances to run for president.

Two claims she made during a 20-minute scrum with 200 reporters at the United Nations almost immediately drew head-shakes from opposition-research groups and memory-hole-digging journalists.

One was a claim that she only had a single portable email device as recently as 2013. The other was that her husband Bill – the former president – was more responsible than she was for setting up the private email server, outside the reach of the executive branch, where she conducted official business.

Mrs. Clinton acknowledged on Tuesday that she had used only a personal email address, and not an official one through the State Department, while at the helm of the Obama administration’s global diplomatic corps from 2009 to 2013.

Clinton pegged her reluctance to have two separate email addresses on her desire to avoid carrying more than one smartphone.

‘I thought it would be easier to carry just one device for my work and for my personal e-mails instead of two,’ she explained.

But just two weeks ago during a ‘Lead On’ Silicon Valley conference for female executives and entrepreneurs, she described herself as a bona fide portable communications pack-rat.

‘iPhone or Android?” the Feb. 24 event’s host asked, in a video later posted on YouTube.

“iPhone,’ Clinton said, before adding: ‘In full disclosure – and a Blackberry.’

‘There are reasons when you start out in Washington on a Blackberry you stay on it in many instances,’ she said.

‘But it’s also – I don’t know, I don’t throw anything away. I’m like two steps short of a hoarder. So I have an iPad, a mini iPad, an iPhone and a Blackberry.’
