Fundraisers at the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee decided to have a bit of fun Saturday with those who would like Warren to run for president in 2016, at a time when activists are reporting being flooded by fundraising pleas from declared — and even undeclared — candidates.
Teasingly, they used Warren as the sender and added a subject line of “I’m in.” But the senator for Massachusetts has repeatedly insisted that she’s not running.[…]
“Friend — In the first few weeks of the new Republican Congress, the GOP has attacked Social Security. They’ve attacked health care. They’ve attacked the rules on Wall Street. They even threatened a reckless shutdown of our national security funding,” the first paragraph reads.
The middle is filled with bright blue options for donating $3,$8,$17,$25, or $35 dollars to the committee.
The end of the emails asks whether Democrats will “stand up.”
“I’m in — what about you? Will you donate by midnight to take back the Senate?” the last sentence reads.
