Three teenage girls from the UK who are “straight-A students” have fled their homes and are feared to be on their way to shack up with ISIS thugs in Syria, authorities said.
Scotland Yard urged the public Friday to help them search for Shamima Begum, 15, Kadiza Sultana, 16, and a third unnamed 15-year-old after they left their homes in east London on Tuesday morning.
“We are extremely concerned for the safety of these young girls and would urge anyone with information to come forward and speak to police,” Counter terrorism commander Richard Walton said in a statement. “Our priority is the safe return of these girls to their families.”
Giving their loved ones “plausible reasons” for leaving, the girls raised alarms when they failed to return home Tuesday evening, the statement said.
