The Navy SEAL who shot Osama Bin Laden is responding to recent State Department comments on giving potential terrorists jobs, saying, “I don’t think a change in career path is what’s going to stop them.”
Rob O’Neil, the Navy SEAL who shot Bin Laden was asked by Fox News host Greta Van Sustren Tuesday what he thought about the recent comments by a State Department spokesperson that the U.S. should go after the causes that lead people to join terrorist groups by creating job opportunities for them.
“Right now the people of ISIS, if you can call them people, they get paid to cut off heads – to crucify children- to sell slaves and to cut off heads. I don’t think a change in career path is what’s going to stop them,” O’Neil said when asked about the comments.
On MSNBC Monday night State Dept. spokesperson Marie Harf said, “We need, in the…medium and longer term, to go after the root causes that lead people to join these (terrorist) groups, whether it’s lack of opportunity for jobs…”
