No one was injured in the fire, according to local TV. Cue the entrance of the crisis exploiters in 3…2…1…

HOUSTON — A fire has broken out at an Islamic community and education center in Houston.

The Houston Fire Department responded around 5:30am this morning to a structure fire at the Quba (KOH’-buh) Islamic Institute.

Flames could be seen burning a structure.

Authorities had no immediate reports of anyone hurt or a possible cause of the fire.

Further details weren’t immediately available.

A message left with the Quba Islamic Institute wasn’t immediately returned Friday. The organization’s website says the institute, which opened in 2013, offers community services and also operates an Islamic school.

The fire destroyed a building recently purchased that was to be turned into a family center.

Update:

Like I said:

No, the whole center, which is comprised of several buildings, did not burn down. One building was destroyed. Failure to responsibly report:

No arson declaration yet. TPM, of course, doesn’t say there has been but says “arson investigators on scene” as though that were indicative that it was in fact arson. In any case of a fire of this nature, where the cause is not immediately evident, there are always arson investigators, it does not imply this in fact is an arson.
