Quick site note: I’ve been away visiting family since Wednesday, so a big thanks to Nick, Dap and Jarred for pulling the extra weight while I’m away. We’re supposed to fly home on Sunday but the forecast for Mass is another 12-14 inches of snow Saturday night through Sunday so who knows when I will get there.

Question for the open threaders aka “The Awesome Ones”: What happens to the conservative blogs if a Republican win in 2016? Anyone who remembers what the right wing blogosphere was like during the Bush administration knows it was much, much, much different.

Watch an F-18 Super Hornet pick a ship-fired airborne cruise missile and guide it into a moving ship.

Last month the U.S. Navy tested a new way to guide long-range cruise missiles to hit moving targets accurately — in this case, by handing control of an airborne Tomahawk to an F/A-18 Super Hornet, which guided the missile to strike a moving ship.

During the test conducted of the coast of San Nicolas Island, Calif. on Jan. 27, the destroyer USS Kidd launched the Tomahawk and handed control of the missile over to the Super Hornet pilot, who steered it into the target ship and punched a hole through a shipping container.
