Thousands of protesters marched in cities across Yemen on Saturday to protest a Shiite rebel takeover of the government.
In the capital, Sanaa, rebel gunmen fired in the air to disperse the protesters, as well as beat them back with sticks and clubs. Demonstrators also marched in the cities of Hodeida, Ibb and Taiz.
Meanwhile, thousands rallied in support of the Shiite rebels known as Houthis at a sports stadium in Sanaa.
