White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest awkwardly dodged a question from a reporter Wednesday as to whether or not the administration supported Jordan’s execution of two militant prisoners in response to the Islamic State’s brutal execution of a Jordanian pilot earlier this week.
Asked a straightforward question about the administration’s opinion of Jordan’s aggressive response by Fox News’ Ed Henry, Earnest provided the administration’s standard nonresponse, saying that while the U.S. generally stood in solidarity with Jordan, he would “refer” questions about executions to the Jordanian government, saying, “I just don’t have the working knowledge of the Jordanian justice system to render an opinion on this.”
