Venezuela’s President Nicolás Maduro once again reported an alleged coup d’état against him, masterminded by the United States.

“My responsibility is to call upon people to be on the maximum alert level. A plan has been launched for a coup d’état. I know well what I am saying,” said the president during a government event on Sunday.

Maduro once again claimed US Vice-President Joe Biden is involved in an alleged conspiracy to topple him. “The imperial power has entered into a despair phase (…) They, in their madness, do not realize the strength (Venezuelan) people have,” Maduro noted.

He added that the attacks against the Venezuelan Armed Forces and Congress Speaker Diosdado Cabello are part of such plot.
