Actor Gary Sinise, a longtime supporter of American servicemen and women, took to Twitter to denounce former Democratic presidential candidate Howard Dean’s Friday night attack on the moviegoers that have made American Sniper a massive hit.
On Friday night’s edition of HBO’s Real Time with Bill Maher, the former Vermont Governor charged that the people going to see the blockbuster movie “are very angry” and added: “I bet if you looked at a cross-section of the Tea Party and the people who go see this movie, there’s a lot of intersection.” To which Sinise responded: “I saw American Sniper and would not consider myself to be an angry person. You certainly have a right to make stupid blanket statements, suggesting that all people who see this film are angry, but how is that helpful sir?”
