SELMA, Alabama — Cast members and producers of the Academy Award-nominated film “Selma” will celebrate Martin Luther King, Jr. Day by leading a commemorative march with Selma residents on Sunday in Selma, Ala.
Director Ava DuVernay, stars David Oyelowo and Common as well as the film’s producers Oprah Winfrey, Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner will participate in the event, which will pay tribute to Dr. King’s contributions to the city and its role in the civil rights movement.
The day will begin with a Q&A session with select filmmakers and cast moderated by Congresswoman Terri Sewell at Selma High School for local high school students and teachers.
