Protesters blocked I-93 in Boston, blocking traffic in the middle of rush hour and delaying at least one emergency vehicle trying to get an 82 year old crash victim to a trauma center. The emergency medical personnel were delayed, and had to divert to another hospital rather than the appropriate trauma center, putting the man’s life at risk.

According to the Boston Globe:

Richard McGrath was already struggling with health problems. The 82-year-old suffers from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, his daughter said, and then on Thursday, his car apparently skidded across ice in Easton and crashed into two trees, leaving him with a fractured neck and spine and some broken ribs.

He needed trauma care at Boston Medical Center, but protesters had shut down northbound Interstate 93 at East Milton Square, and the ambulance carrying McGrath had to turn back and head to Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton — a hospital without a trauma center.

“I’m so angry right now,” said McGrath’s daughter, Nadine McGrath. “I understand trying to make a point. But why that? Why would you do that? Why? I just don’t understand what the purpose for that is. Ambulance, fire, police — you’re not just inconveniencing commuters trying to get to work. . . . He could have died.”

The protesters later made it clear, in an anti-capitalist anti-white people screed that this was an effort to make white people uncomfortable, and the BLM cause is more important than your ‘inconvenience’.

29 of them were arrested and faced multiple charges, including a charge of delaying an emergency vehicle from getting to the hospital. You can see the names of all of them in the article. According to State Senator Bob Hedlund, quoting the Boston Globe at lease one was an illegal alien.

As protesters were trying to leave the courthouse, after their initial arraignment, a reporter tried to talk with two of the protesters. The protesters tried to push past her. One responded with pure irony gold, “I need to go to the hospital! Please get out of my way!” The second says “We need to get to medical care”.
