The Oakland branch of “Black Lives Matter” has attempted to shut down numerous legs of the BART system today from Oakland to San Francisco. The hilarious picture above was captured by the San Francisco Chronicle at one of the Oakland stops along the system.
Oakland police officers mobilized prior to the protest beginning and BART operators are slowing trains down to allow protesters to be kettled in stations by Oakland Police.
Protesters say the goal of this attempted shutdown and protest is to make white people feel uncomfortable.

One man who says he identifies with the Black Lives Matter protests but says shutting down trains, chaining yourselves to objects and inconveniencing white and black people alike is a poor way to spread their message. He showed up with this sign.
Naturally protesters swarmed him heckling him as a sell-out to the cause.
The Bay Area Rapid Transit system accommodates thousands upon thousands of commuters in the Bay Area every day, and acts like this simply inconvenience everyone. Most riders are those who cannot afford cars and have to rely on mass transit to get around. Shutting the system down like this hurts everyone, especially the poorest people living in San Francisco, Oakland and elsewhere who rely on it to get to work.
