Hillsborough deputies say they took a teenager into custody this week who had a loaded gun, extra bullets, and a lengthy arrest record.
The sheriff’s office says 14-year-old Dallas Robinson was riding his bicycle without a headlight at 127th Avenue and St. James Place around midnight Tuesday.
They attempted to talk to him, then he fled, and deputies say they saw him reaching into his waistband.
The deputies ordered him to ground at gunpoint and arrested him. They searched him and found a fully-loaded 9mm semi-automatic handgun with one round in the chamber tucked in the front of his pants, the sheriff’s office said.
In addition to the firearm, Robinson was wearing an ankle holster that had an extra fully loaded magazine, deputies said.
According to the sheriff’s office, Robinson was just arrested less than two weeks ago on a violation of probation charge. He has 14 prior arrests, including carrying a concealed firearm, drug charges, grand theft, robbery with a firearm and multiple counts of violation of probation.
Robinson now faces the following charges:
Carrying a concealed firearm
Minor in possession of a firearm
Resisting arrest without violence
Violation of probation for carrying a concealed firearm and possession of marijuana.
He was booked into the Hillsborough County Detention Center.
