He quotes the same passage of the Koran as Ismaaiyl Abdullah Brinsley, the NYPD cop killer, did as part of the justification for these actions:
The passage reads: ‘And prepare against them whatever you are able of power and of steeds of war by which you may terrify the enemy of Allah and your enemy and others besides them whom you do not know [but] whom Allah knows. And whatever you spend in the cause of Allah will be fully repaid to you, and you will not be wronged’
The Kouachi brothers claimed allegiance to al Qaeda, and al Qaeda in Yemen claimed responsibility for the Charlie Hebdo attack. What should concern us is people professing allegiance to both are working cooperatively with each other. Whether we declare war against radical Islam or not, they are working together to be at war with us.
