DEVELOPING: Police were responding Saturday evening to a hostage situation at a hospital near Houston, Texas, where a man is believed to be holding at least two people hostage inside the Tomball Regional Medical Center.
It is not known if the man is armed.
A supervisor at the county’s emergency dispatch center said the situation was in the critical care unit and began around 7 p.m.
Police in Tomball, which is about 30 miles northwest of Houston, did not immediately respond to a message left by The Associated Press. No other information was immediately available.
Update:
Police are now updating their initial report of a hostage situation, now saying it isn’t one.

Reports are that the man is a distraught father who has locked himself in a hospital room with his son who is patient.
