De Blasio called the attack on the police an “alleged attack” at the time, seeming to even question that it had occurred, further sticking a finger in the eye of the police. He thereafter met with protesters in the office of the SEIU. One of the attackers was even an SEIU organizer, but that didn’t deter de Blasio.
The people behind the attack have proven to be privileged academics and writers. Hardly oppressed. Big surprise.
Via NY Post:
A Brooklyn activist who has written anti-cop screeds – and boasted of punching his boss in the face – was busted Thursday over the infamous attack on the two NYPD lieutenants during a Brooklyn Bridge protest, officials said.
Jarrod Shanahan, identified by the NYPD as ‘Male Suspect #2’, was caught on video kicking one of the cops after a mob of protesters dragged him down on Dec. 13.
Shanahan was charged with two counts of assaulting a cop, resisting arrest, obstructing governmental administration and rioting.
He refused to comment as cops took him from the Fifth Precinct station house for arraignment in Manhattan Criminal Court.
Here’s Shanahan, hugging a Mao doll:

Psst, Jarrod? Mao is responsible for the deaths of millions.
Here are a couple of his articles for VICE, about punching his boss in the face and how SEIU controls protests for the benefit of the Democratic candidates (do tell!).

VICE disclaims him as a ‘reporter’, but he has been a contributor for stories:
