Yeah, it’s a total mystery.
David Rothkopf of Foreign Policy magazine talks about “taking a step back” on drawing conclusions from a hostage situation in a cafe in Sydney, Australia where the perpetrator has raised a black flag that reads, “There is no God but Allah and Mohammed is the messenger of God” in the store’s window.
“I do think we need to take a step back,” Rothkopf said on Monday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s Morning Joe. “We don’t know who this is, we don’t know what their motivation is.”
“We have to be careful of responding to the threat posed by one guy acting alone in a small cafe and letting it infuse us with the terror that’s the objective of attacks like this,” Rothkopf said.
“We know that one guy has gone into a small cafe, taken over a small group of people and the world media has stopped and is watching,” Rothkopf also said on MSNBC.
