The Eric Garner protesters are not only stopping traffic, they’re delaying one dad’s attempt to find his suicidal son.
Columbia University Professor Bruce Robbins says his 25-year-old son, Andreas, left a suicide note in his Stuyvesant Town bedroom saying he was going to jump off the George Washington Bridge on Monday night — and hasn’t been seen since.
Though cops were initially helpful, Robbins said, they’re now telling him they’re too busy with the Garner protests to help search for his son.
“I was kind of speechless,” Robbins told The Post. “A detective basically said, ‘There’s no one out to take your case because everyone is out there dealing with the consequences of the Eric Garner case.’”
Cops say they’ve been “working diligently” to find Andreas, who goes by “Andy.”
They’ve sent out harbor and aviation units and canvassed his neighborhood, law enforcement sources said. They also issued a missing person’s report.
