Rep. Al Green (D-Texas) told members of the House Wednesday morning that he plans to honor the St. Louis Rams players who entered the field with a ‘hands-up’ pose in solidarity with protesters upset at the failure of the grand jury to indict Officer Darren Wilson in Michael Brown’s death.
Rams players Stedman Bailey, Tavon Austin, Jared Cook, Chris Givens and Kenny Britt caused controversy after taking the field with a ‘hands-up’ pose during last Sunday’s game against the Raiders.
Taking the House floor Wednesday Rep. Green said, “I also want to note that what happened with the Rams players was a seminal moment and I want to legitimize what they did.”
“I have already said that I will have flags flown over the Capitol of the United States of America in each person’s name.”
