Last night, as the carnage began in Ferguson, the Mayor of the city reportedly begged for the National Guard from the Democratic Governor, Jay Nixon. But deployment was delayed until this morning. One has to wonder about the delay, given that the reaction was predictable, and the Guard has been mobilized for a while.
According to CNN:
Ferguson Mayor James Knowles on Tuesday slammed how the National Guard was deployed in his city. “The decision to delay the deployment of the National Guard is deeply concerning. We are asking that the governor make available and deploy all necessary resources to prevent the further destruction of property and the preservation of life in the city of Ferguson,” Knowles told reporters.
The Missouri Lt. Governor claims had the National Guard been properly deployed last night, the lootings and burning of businesses wouldn’t have occurred. He actually asks “Is the reason that they were not deployed, because Obama or Holder asked you to keep them out?”
