KABUL: A suicide car bomb rocked Shinkai district in the southern Afghanistan’s Zabul province on Wednesday, leaving the bomber dead, provincial police chief Ghulam Sakhi Rogh Liwanai said.

“A suicide bomber driving his explosive-laden car was attempting to target a government facility in Shinkai district this morning but was identified by police and ordered to stop but the terrorist blew himself up leaving himself dead,” Liwanai told reporters. […]

A day earlier on Tuesday, three suicide bombers were killed in the blast of their car in Zabul province. Zabul province with Qalat as its capital, 340 km south of Kabul, has been the scene of Taliban-led militancy over the past couple of years.
